Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien held a working session with Ambassador of the Republic of Korea (RoK) to Vietnam Park Noh-wan in Hanoi on June 2 to discuss measures to further facilitate cooperation between the two countries in trade, industry, and energy.

Vietnam is working hard to complete its legal corridor and tighten the examination and supervision of imported wood materials to ensure transparency in the wood sector and meet the strict origin rules in foreign markets.

In the afternoon of May 26, 2021, Vietrade had the honor to receive a courtesy call from H.E. Agostinho André De Carvalho Fernandes, Ambassador of Angola to VietNam.

Trade promotion activities, at the core of the National Trade Promotion Program, have achieved positive results and increasingly asserted an important role in trade promotion of the country; to well support and promote the development of export markets, including traditional markets, potential markets and markets that have signed FTA agreements. The Ministry of Industry and Trade has cooperated with trade promotion associations and organizations to constantly innovate the way of trade promotion activities, diversify forms of trade promotion and improve efficiency of trade promotion activities.

Vietnam earned 790 million USD from exporting aquatic products in May, lifting the total figure in the first five months of this year to nearly 3.3 billion USD, a year-on-year rise of 14 percent.

Standard Chartered announced on June 1 its forecast that Vietnam’s GDP growth would be 6.7 percent this year and 7.3 percent in 2022.

On the afternoon of May 6, 2021, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Mr Nguyen Hong Dien - Minister of Industry and Trade received and worked with Mr. Chay Navuth, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Cambodia to Vietnam, to exchange and unify measures to strengthen cooperation in the fields of trade, industry and energy between Vietnam and Cambodia.
